This 1960s vintage postcard commemorates the 250th anniversary of Mobile, Alabama, from 1711 to 1961. The celebratory emblem features a central medallion with an image of historic Mobile, surrounded by the flags representing the six governments that have ruled over the city: France, Great Britain, Spain, the Republic of Alabama, the Confederacy, and the United States.

The medallion is encircled by the phrases "From Enchanting Tradition" and "Enduring Progress," with "250th Anniversary" displayed on a ribbon banner below. "MOBILE 250th ANNIV. CELEB. CORP. 1961" is printed at the bottom, indicating the organization responsible for the anniversary celebration and the year it took place.

This beautiful postcard highlights Mobile's rich history, noting that it has been under six flags and was founded on Mobile Bay by Jean Baptiste Lemoyne Bienville. Mobile was the fourth fastest-growing city in the U.S.A. at the time of the celebration.

This would look great framed or make a nice addition to any collection.
