Our Story

We have been providing unique vintage since 2003. Our pieces have been featured in Vogue and Lucky magazines, as well as appearing in various television shows, films, and music videos.

With over 30,000 online sales across various platforms including our website, eBay, and Etsy, we continuously satisfy customers with our exceptional selection and service. Currently, we are exclusively available online and have recently relocated our operations from Missouri to sunny Miami, Florida.

With our relaunched website, we are offering an expanded inventory. In addition to our existing collection, we are introducing art, home decor, furniture, books, and more.

Our Promise: Authentic Vintage

In a world inundated with fast fashion and copycat goods, we specialize in authentic and unique vintage that has withstood the test of time. Our curated selection dates from the 1700s through the 1990s.

Our Philosophy: Sustainability

At Get Lucky Vintage we understand the ongoing social and environmental issues surrounding forced labor, mass production, and the throw-away culture. Antiques average a 16% lower carbon footprint over newly manufactured pieces. Every purchase you make from us makes a difference.

Our estate buyouts require a lot of hand sorting to glean the best things for our customers. What we don’t pick, we donate. We have kept an estimated 35 tons of wearable clothing from landfills through our donations to nonprofits that serve the unhoused and individuals impacted by natural disasters.

Our Founder: Laura Brown

Hi! I’m Laura Brown, the owner of Get Lucky Vintage. People are always asking me how I got started in this industry and I tell them I was raised wearing thrift store clothes and hand-me-downs. When I really fell in love with vintage, I was just a girl playing dress up in my cousin’s discarded 1950s prom dress. I can still remember it like it was yesterday, running to 'kick the can' while lifting up layers and layers of tulle. That dress gave me the freedom to be a princess and a tomboy all at the same time. I’ve been hooked on vintage ever since.

Before the Brick & Mortar

I received my first opportunity to work in a vintage shop when I was a teenager. It was called Repeat Performance and was located in the heart of the trendy Delmar Loop neighborhood of St. Louis. Here I learned conservation techniques, how to date pieces, identify fabrics, do period-specific repairs, tat lace, and most importantly, meet the needs of our customers.

I went on to study business, art, art history, and design at Washington University. From there I was employed as management at several retail companies; among these an avant-garde clothing company, a luxury lingerie brand, a fine jewelry company, and a fair trade company that also imports Southeast Asian antiques.

Our First Storefront!

In 2003, I was finally ready to step out on my own. I opened my first shop in an old Victorian storefront located in historic Saint Charles, Missouri. Unique to the neighborhood, my brick-and-mortar store quickly gained recognition for our curated collection of vintage goods.

Today

Get Lucky Vintage has relocated to Florida and shifted its focus to the expansion of our online offerings. We are adding an amazing selection of inventory, including some pieces from Laura's private collection.

We remain committed to our customers and will continue to provide them with an exceptional selection and five-star service.

When I'm Not Working

Within my artistic pursuits, I am an award-winning sculptor, jewelry designer, and former performance artist. I've done a touch of modeling and even had 20 seconds of fame walking the catwalk on the Sally Jessy Raphael Show (Does anyone remember her and those big red glasses?) I love to indulge in the theatre, museums, and local galleries.

I believe in giving back, so I carve out time to mentor newcomers to the vintage industry. Additionally, I offer free verbal valuations, both online and in person. I also put time towards the restoration of museum-quality textiles preserving history for future generations.
