1950s vintage prom dress. During the 1950s, schools had modesty rules forbidding strapless dresses, so prom dresses were sold with matching boleros. Most are long lost, but this one still has its original pretty lace jacket!

The straps are pinned in and easily removed for a strapless option (which is what the girls did once leaving the school-related prom). Left-side metal zipper fasten. The attached taffeta acetate underslip has very subtle vertically striped yellowish discoloration from storage. These are not the shadows of the folds in the pictures, but too subtle for the camera to pick up. Two small darns on the rear underskirt. Both go virtually unnoticed unless you lift all of the lace and tulle layers, stretch out the taffeta lining, and are looking for them.

Modern size equivalent Medium.
Actual measurements:
Bust 36 inches
Waist 28 inches
Hips Full
Side seam bodice 7 1/2 inches
Skirting length 34 inches
Sweep of taffeta under skirting 106 inches
