1930s. A majestic miniature elephant by the prized German porcelain company, Pfeffer Porzellan. Approximate measurements: 1.5 inches tall, 2.2 inches long. An elephant's trunk is said to house good luck and positive energy. In Feng Shui, it is said that a downward trunk represents life and the ability to conquer obstacles.
Marked with the Pfeffer Porzellan symbol used by the company from 1932 to 1942. Signed "Germany" on a foot, which indicates that although this piece was initially made exclusively for the German market, it was later made available for import outside Germany. Pfeffer Porzellan made high-quality, realistic animal figurines from 1900 to 1942, and they remain highly desirable in the marketplace today due to their naturalistic, handmade artistry.
