Historical Background

Manufactured in the Czech Republic in the 1930s by glassmaker Karl Palda. The firm of Karl Palda was founded in 1888 in Haida, Nový Bor, Bohemia (now the Czech Republic). The most coveted pieces produced by Palda are the innovative Art Deco, geometric designs, such as this one, made between 1933 and 1938. Utilizing master-crafted mold-blown crystal blanks enhanced by heavy hand-cutting and vivid enamel work, these bespoke vanity sets capture the absolute height of European modernist luxury.
