1908 Hebrew Temple Indianapolis Indiana

1908 vintage postcard of the former synagogue of the Indianapolis Hebrew Congregation located at 975 North Delaware Street. The building was constructed in 1899 in the Roman Renaissance style and designed by the local architecture firm Vonnegut, Bohn, and Mueller. The church is most notably the last Indiana site of Jim Jones' Peoples Temple from 1958 to 1965. The church was destroyed by a fire in April 1975 and has remained a vacant lot since.
