This linen-era postcard features the Guest House at the Little White House, President Franklin D. Roosevelt's retreat in Warm Springs, Georgia. Built after he became President to accommodate a growing number of visitors, the cottage was notably furnished with pieces from the Val-Kill Shops at Hyde Park. The back of the card records that the President of the Philippines and Secretary Morgenthau were guests here just a week before President Roosevelt passed away on April 12, 1945. This view preserves the quiet, secluded atmosphere of the estate that has served as a historic landmark and museum since 1948.
