This postcard was mailed via Air Mail to Major General and Mrs. C.E. Hurdis in Rhode Island, USA, in the summer of 1951. The sender provides a candid look at the difficulties of post-war travel in the Highlands, writing: "this view is rather similar to the Bay of Lochbuie here on the Isle of Mull. Unfortunately we can get no accommodations here & shall have to return to Oban tonight." It is franked with a 6d King George VI definitive stamp, the correct rate for international airmail during that period.
