About This Vintage Postcard

This serene antique postcard captures the picturesque waterfront of Beaulieu-sur-Dordogne in the Corrèze department of France. The scene features traditional flat-bottomed wooden boats, known as gabares, gliding across the glassy surface of the Dordogne River. Along the banks, the historic stone houses of the village are reflected in the water, with the prominent spire of the Abbey Church of Saint-Pierre visible on the left. This view beautifully preserves the peaceful, riverside atmosphere of this medieval Limousin Riviera town as it appeared in the early 20th century.
