About This Postcard

This antique color-tinted postcard features Carpenters' Hall in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, a key site in American history. Completed in 1773, the building hosted the First Continental Congress in 1774. The image captures the Georgian-style brickwork and the distinctive pediment of the hall, which was built and is still owned by the Carpenters' Company of the City and County of Philadelphia, the oldest trade guild in the country. A faint handwritten message is visible in the bottom margin of the front.
