The Indera Knitting Company, founded in 1914, was known for its patented knitting process. Their first products were wool knit slips for women and girls, sold under the "ColdPruf" label. During World War II, the company introduced the "Figurfit" design to meet changing fashion needs, shaped by fabric rationing and the increasing number of women joining the workforce and taking on active volunteer roles.

Condition: Signs of wear include minor staining that is very difficult to see. Periodic tiny old moth holes; the largest are located in the general right waist area and are pictured with a ruler next to the largest (3 mm). The weave is run-resistant, so these do not pose a problem. Fraying on the ends of the original drawstring. Please see the images.

Care instructions: This garment is the Real Deal! To properly wash this cotton knit slip, fill a basin with cool water and a cotton-friendly detergent. Gently hand-agitate the fabric, then soak for 10-15 minutes. Rinse with cool water. After washing, press out excess water between towels and lay flat to air dry, reshaping as needed. Avoid direct sunlight and heat.
