Additional Information

This card features a high-quality halftone print of a photograph by Link, capturing the famous "Chandelier" formation. The Link Art Studio, a prominent Dubuque institution once located on Central Avenue, was the premier documentarian of the tri-state area for decades. Their "Photo by Link" credit became a local hallmark of quality for regional landmarks and community events. While postmarked September 25, 1949, the use of a one-cent George Washington stamp was consistent with the domestic postcard rate of that year.

The lengthy handwritten message provides a rich snapshot of 1940s student life, detailing a busy academic schedule of "Introduction to Education," "Music Methods," "Marching Band," and "Elementary Conducting," as well as a 14-0 football victory over Buena Vista.
