1909 Bird Versus Baby, Christmas Edition Postcard

Add a playful twist to your holiday nostalgia with this whimsical 1909 embossed postcard featuring a rather unexpected Christmas scene. A baby in a highchair wails in dismay as a mischievous cockatoo perches nearby, proudly clutching one of the child’s toys. The bright, chaotic charm of this moment is captured with expressive detail and a dash of turn-of-the-century humor. Above it all, the ironic greeting reads: “A Real Merry Christmas.”

This card is a perfect example of early 20th-century postcards that mixed sentiment with a touch of mischief, making it a standout piece for collectors who appreciate the quirkier side of holiday history.
