Postmarked in 1906, this undivided back postcard captures a haunting view of the ruins of the Stanford University Library in California, following the devastating earthquake of April 18 that same year. The quake, which nearly leveled parts of San Francisco and surrounding areas, also took a heavy toll on the young Stanford campus.
