This 1947 postcard features the iconic Morro Castle Lighthouse, standing proudly at the entrance to Havana's harbor in Cuba. The strong, timeless structure has guided ships safely into the port since the late 1800s, becoming a symbol of the city’s rich maritime history. The postcard’s sepia tones add a vintage feel, giving a nostalgic look at Havana’s coastal beauty during a golden era of travel. The lighthouse, with its commanding views, has witnessed centuries of change and remains a cherished landmark in Cuba's capital.

Postmarked March 20, 1947, (hand dated March 25, so perhaps the postal worker had not changed the date on the hand cancel). This postcard tells a story of travel and appreciation through a handwritten message.. The sender shares warm impressions of Cuba, noting their enjoyment of the visit and expressing a desire to live there. The back features a one-cent Cuban postage stamp of a native sitting on a rock smoking a cigar, cancelled with the slogan "COMPRE AZUCAR CUBANO" (Buy Cuban Sugar) and "Republica de Cuba."

This is more than a postcard—it's a rare, authentic glimpse into mid-20th-century travel, history, and culture. It would look great framed, make a wonderful hostess gift, or make an excellent addition to any collection.
