This vintage white border postcard from 1962 features President Franklin D. Roosevelt’s favorite brown leather chair, located at the Little White House in Warm Springs, Georgia. The chair, a gift from his close-knit group of friends known as "The Cuff Links Club," was presented to him in 1940. The club, formed in 1920, took its name from personalized cuff links gifted by Roosevelt—each set engraved with "F.D.R." on one link and the recipient’s initials on the other.

The Little White House was FDR’s private retreat, built in 1932 while he was Governor of New York. Drawn to Warm Springs for its therapeutic mineral waters, which he hoped would help with the effects of polio, Roosevelt found both physical relief and emotional peace in the small Georgia town. He returned frequently throughout his presidency, and it was at this very home that he passed away in 1945.

Unposted, this postcard is a touching glimpse into the personal life of one of America’s most influential presidents. A great addition for collectors of presidential history, Georgia landmarks, or vintage Americana.
