This 1905 undivided back vintage postcard features a stately black and white photograph of Longfellow’s Home in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

The large, three-story Georgian-style house stands with dignified symmetry, its many-paned windows and modest porch framed by trees that suggest quiet elegance. A long walkway stretches from the front entrance, inviting the viewer into the historic grounds once walked by the famed American poet Henry Wadsworth Longfellow. The handwritten message, dated July 26, 1905, adds a personal touch from a time when postcards served as both souvenir and social connection. Longfellow lived here from 1837 until his death in 1882, and the house also served as George Washington’s headquarters during the Revolutionary War—a fact that deepens its historical significance.

This vintage postcard would look great framed and make a nice addition to any collection.
