Experience the speed and striking presence of World War II aviation with this collectible postcard featuring the Douglas A-26B Invader in flight.

The Douglas A-26B-10-DT Invader, serial number 43-22282, is shown here as it appeared in 1945 during the final months of World War II. This twin-engine light bomber was designed for versatility and power, serving in roles that included level bombing, ground strafing, and rocket attacks.

This particular aircraft is a solid-nose A-26B variant, optimized for ground-attack missions rather than high-altitude precision bombing. The Invader was considered the fastest U.S. bomber of the war, combining impressive speed with devastating firepower.

Heavily armed, it featured multiple forward-firing machine guns in the nose along with remote power-driven gun turrets. The aircraft carries the standard wartime U.S. Army Air Forces star-and-bar insignia with a blue border on the wings and fuselage, while the tail displays the serial number 322282 in black.

Distinctive nose art decorates the left side, depicting a woman alongside the name “Denny” and the number 31, adding a personal touch to this formidable combat aircraft.
