This vintage postcard features a luminous bouquet of yellow, orange, and red flowers, arranged to uplift and comfort anyone feeling unwell. The petals almost glow against the soft background, capturing the warmth and hope of a thoughtful gesture, while the accompanying verse offers gentle encouragement: “Short and sweet / But most sincere: / God give you strength / And health and cheer.”

The passage from Acts 3:19 “Times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord.” reminds the recipient that times of refreshing come from the presence of the Lord, linking the simple beauty of the flowers with spiritual renewal and reassurance.

The image was photographed by Harold M. Lambert, a mid-20th-century commercial photographer known for his richly colored floral compositions that graced countless greeting cards.

Printed in the United States and intended for personal mailing, this card was created between 1945 and 1952, an era when one-cent stamp instructions still guided domestic postcard rates.
