Additional Information

This card is part of the Raphotype series numbered 5346 and was produced by Raphael Tuck and Sons who held the prestigious title of Art Publishers to Their Majesties the King and Queen. Raphotype is a specific type of early 20th century postcard produced by this renowned British publisher and these cards are most common from the undivided back era. While Tuck was famous for high quality lithography the Raphotype process was a more economical color printing method that often resulted in a softer slightly softer tones appearance compared to their more premium series.

The reverse includes a detailed historical printed description noting that the building contained fourteen apartments for city offices and the Central Engine House headquarters. It also mentions a steel jail located in the basement and states the total property value at the time was 130,000 dollars.

The back is addressed in elegant cursive to an individual in Cincinnati, Ohio. The handwritten message on the front reads: The city looks bright and beautiful this morning. A. June 1 07.

This would look great framed or make an excellent addition to any collection.
