Set of two 1930s vintage blue crackle-look medium casein plastic buttons. Measure approximately 44L, 44 lignes, 28 mm, or 1 7/64 inches.

Invented in 1897, Casein milk plastics are a type of plastic made from a protein called casein found in milk. They were popular in the early 1900s, but making it was a slow process, and after World War II, newer plastics became more popular. The production of casein plastics all but ended after 1945.
