This vintage postcard presents a sweeping view of Tuolumne Meadows in Yosemite National Park, California, capturing the serene grandeur of the high Sierra wilderness. In the foreground, the Tuolumne River winds gently across the scene, its deep blue-black waters rippling softly and reflecting the late-morning light. A small rocky shoreline rises just beyond the river, where a weathered silver-gray tree trunk lies fallen among stones, and a few bright green pine saplings emerge, lending texture and rugged charm.

Behind the river, a dense forest of dark green lodgepole and white pines stretches across the width of the postcard, forming a rich, unbroken wall of coniferous growth. Rising above the forest, jagged granite peaks of the Cathedral Range dominate the horizon. The right peak is a sharp spire, while the left broadens into a massive snow-capped slope. Bright white snow contrasts with dark gray rock ribs, emphasizing the mountains’ dramatic, timeless presence. Above it all, a clear, gradient blue sky stretches from pale near the peaks to a deeper azure at the top, completing the crisp, open-air atmosphere of the high-elevation meadow.

Photographed by Douglas Whiteside, this image was produced by 5 Associates of Redwood City, California, and printed as a Mirro-Krome card by H.S. Crocker Co., Inc., San Francisco. Its slightly grainy, mid-century color and rich saturation evoke a classic vintage postcard aesthetic, perfect for collectors of Americana and natural landscapes.

This authentic vintage postcard would look great framed or make a great addition to any collection.
