Step back into Baltimore’s streetcar era with this collectible railroad postcard featuring trolley #7407, captured in its classic Alexandria Blue, Picador Cream, and bright orange livery. This vintage PCC streetcar, built during World War II, evokes the elegance and efficiency of mid-20th-century urban transit, offering collectors and transit enthusiasts a charming glimpse of Baltimore’s bustling streets and iconic trolley lines.

Streetcar #7407 was built in 1944 by the Pullman-Standard Car Manufacturing Company as a PCC (Presidents’ Conference Committee) model, known for its smooth performance and streamlined design. Due to wartime metal restrictions, it was constructed with painted steel stanchions instead of chrome, giving it a distinctive historic character. The trolley served the 32-Howard Park route, carrying passengers across the city in style.

After being retired from active service, #7407 was acquired in 1968 by the Baltimore Streetcar Museum, where it remains fully restored and operational. Visitors can still ride this youngest member of the museum’s collection, experiencing a piece of living transit history.

This collectible railroad postcard captures the charm, color, and craftsmanship of a classic Baltimore PCC streetcar and would display beautifully framed or make a treasured addition to any trolley, streetcar, or U.S. urban transit collection.
