1907. "Pity's Akin To Love" is a saying that means if you start feeling sorry for someone you might start to love them. A little girl with a big red bow in her hair crying, tears streaming down her face as a little boy carefully examines a splinter in her open hand. Adorable.

A woodblock printed postcard in red and black, the signature colors used by artist and illustrator R. L. Wells. Artist signed. Wells handmade cards at a time when most were printed by large publishing houses in Germany. His collectible cards are easily identified by the two-color prints, graphic quality, and use of quotations from the 17th century. Undivided back, UDB. This would look great framed or make an excellent addition to any collection.
