Additional Information

The back of this card is postmarked August 10, 1911, and features a one-cent Benjamin Franklin stamp. It was mailed to Alfred Slugg in Willow Grove, Pennsylvania. The publisher, G.V. Millar and Co. of Scranton, used a distinctive oval logo on the back that features a small landscape scene, a common branding mark for this regional Pennsylvania publisher. Because the Water Gap House burned down in 1915, this 1911 postmark captures the hotel at the height of its popularity before it was lost forever.
