1916 Uranium Glass Scylla Powder Apothecary Jar

This rare antique apothecary bottle from Argentina was used to store ESCILA EN POLVO (Scylla Powder), a medicinal substance derived from mud crab shells, historically used in homeopathic and traditional medicine during the late 19th or early 20th century.

The bottle is made of uranium glass, giving it a striking green hue that glows under UV light, a feature highly prized by collectors of rare and unusual glass. Both the bottle and its matching stopper are hand-engraved with the number "63," indicating the stopper was custom-made to fit perfectly. The applied enamel label, more durable and desirable than paper, preserves the original pharmaceutical markings and adds to the bottle’s historic charm.
