About This Postcard

This antique monochromatic postcard features the Boys High School, famously known as Central High School, located at Broad and Green Streets in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. This monumental Romanesque Revival building, completed in 1900, was renowned for its massive granite construction and its prominent astronomical observatory tower, which is clearly visible in the image. As one of the oldest public high schools in the United States, this site represents a significant era in American educational architecture and Philadelphia's civic history.
