This vintage postcard captures the sweeping coastal scenery along Ocean Drive in Acadia National Park on Mount Desert Island Maine. In the foreground a wide expanse of pinkish brown granite rocks slopes toward the Atlantic Ocean. Two small figures stand near the edge of the stone ledges, their presence emphasizing the immense scale of the rugged shoreline. The textured granite glows warmly in the sunlight, contrasting with the cool blue water beyond.

Ocean Drive is one of the most scenic stretches of the Park Loop Road in Acadia National Park. Trails follow the roadway and lead hikers along the cliffs where sweeping views of the ocean and rocky shoreline unfold at every turn.

This postcard features color photography by Paul A. Knaut Jr. and was produced by Mike Roberts Color Productions of Berkeley California. Postmarked in 1971, it reflects the rich natural color and crisp scenic photography that distinguishes Mike Roberts postcards of the era.
