This postcard is an "Amtliche Ausgabe" (Official Edition) published by the General Directorate of the Dresden Collections. The manufacturing date is narrowed to circa 1912–1915 based on the partnership between the Wilhelm and Bertha v. Baensch Foundation and the Berlin publisher Julius Bard, noted at the bottom of the card. These official museum cards were designed to provide the highest quality reproductions for tourists who visited the Zwinger complex before World War I. The "Postkarte" header and the descriptive text are examples of German graphic design from the late Golden Age. Titian's original oil on wood remains a treasure of the Dresden museum.
