1930s. A majestic miniature elephant by the prized German porcelain company, Pfeffer Porzellan. An elephant's trunk is said to house good luck and positive energy. In Feng Shui, a downward trunk symbolizes life and the ability to overcome obstacles.
Approximate measurements: 1.5" tall, 2.2" long.
Marked with the Pfeffer Porzellan symbol used by the company from 1932 to 1942. Signed "Germany" on a foot, which indicates that although this piece was initially made exclusively for the German market, it was later made available for import outside Germany. Pfeffer Porzellan produced high-quality, realistic animal figurines from 1900 to 1942, and they remain highly desirable today for their naturalistic, handmade artistry.
