1940s Singing Tower Mountain Lake Florida Postcard
About This Vintage Postcard
Ascend to the highest point in peninsular Florida with this magnificent "linen" era depiction of the Singing Tower at Bok Tower Gardens. Nestled within the exclusive Mountain Lake colony near Lake Wales, this 205-foot neo-Gothic masterpiece is shown in all its early splendor, surrounded by the lush sanctuary gardens designed by Frederick Law Olmsted Jr.
The card features a unique inset view of the tower's intricately carved base and "The Great Brass Door," a hallmark of the ornate craftsmanship that has made this site a National Historic Landmark. This vibrant view captures the peace and architectural grandeur of Edward Bok’s "Sanctuary for the Birds and Man" as it appeared to visitors in the early 1940s.
