Additional Information
This card bears a handwritten message from a father to his children, dated July 22nd. It was postmarked in Vienna on July 23, 1900 ("23.7.00"), and traveled to Reading, Pennsylvania, where it received an arrival stamp on August 1, 1900. The card is addressed to Mr. Charles Benz at the Penn National Bank. It features a 10-heller Austrian definitive stamp and the ornate "Correspondenz-Karte" gothic script on the reverse. The undivided back confirms its production during the era when the back was strictly for the address and the message had to be written on the front.
