The Elks Lodge No. 99 building in Los Angeles, also known as the Park Plaza Hotel or The MacArthur, is located at 607 Park View Street just off Wilshire Boulevard near downtown Los Angeles, California. Completed in 1926, it was designed by the architect Claud Beelman in an Art Deco style. The building rises eleven stories above Westlake Park and was originally a private retreat for the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks.

While it may not be considered a skyscraper by today’s standards, it was quite an impressive and tall building for its time. The structure features a mix of classical columns, arches, and stylized Art Deco details, with a symmetrical Beaux-Arts form and a stepped skyscraper silhouette. The building also includes lavish interiors, such as a grand ballroom, numerous dining rooms, a gymnasium, a pool, and a bowling alley. Circa 1936 linen postcard, with a 1952 postmark.
