Deep Purple's 1984 "Perfect Strangers" tour marked a significant reunion of the band's Mk II lineup, featuring Ritchie Blackmore, Ian Gillan, Roger Glover, Jon Lord, and Ian Paice, performing together for the first time since 1973. The tour promoted their new album, also titled "Perfect Strangers", which achieved commercial success by reaching number five on the UK charts and number 17 on the Billboard 200 in the US.
The tour itself was a major success, with high ticket sales prompting the addition of extra dates to the US leg of their arena tour. In 1985, their US tour outgrossed every other artist's except Bruce Springsteen's.
Included with the long-sleeve, two-sided tour shirt is a ticket stub from the Saturday, 16 March 1985, concert at the Hollywood Sportatorium in Hollywood, Florida.
This shirt has been stored since the '80s, carrying the essence of that era. The fabric shows some signs of irregular dye bath and wear at the cuff edges, but nothing terrible. Imagine the stories it could tell - from the concert buzz to late-night jam sessions. If you decide to wear it (and why wouldn't you?), follow these tips for this 100% cotton shirt: Wash medium 100°F (40°C). Do not bleach—dry medium. Do not dry clean or iron if decorated.
