About This Vintage Postcard

A quiet summer afternoon on the campus of Youngstown College is preserved here in the soft textures of the linen era. The stately stone towers of the administration building rise against a pale blue sky, offering a peaceful glimpse of collegiate life as it was before WW2 changed the world.

Additional Information

The building shown, now known as Jones Hall, remains a centerpiece of the Youngstown State University campus today. The reverse side shows this card was later used during the final year of WWII, addressed via typewriter to Victor J. Bonowski at 122 W. Philadelphia Ave. in Youngstown. It bears a 1-cent green George Washington stamp and a clear 8-PM postmark from January 2, 1945.

This vintage postcard would look great framed or make an excellent addition to any collection.
