Additional Information
This card is identified as No. 4 within Serie 46. The sunburst ST logo on the reverse is the mark of Stehli Frères, a premier Swiss firm famous for their mastery of the phototypie (collotype) process. This technique used a sensitized gelatin surface to create grainless, continuous-tone images that were often indistinguishable from original art. While printed in Zurich, Stehli cards were high-end exports sold at art shops and tourist destinations throughout France and Europe. The inscription, dated 10 Juillet 1919, places this card in the immediate post-WWI era.
