About This Postcard

This antique postcard features la Vieille Eglise (the Old Church) in Buzançais, located in the Indre department of central France. The image depicts the historic stone structure with its prominent square bell tower and pointed spire, fronted by a row of carefully pruned trees. The church, known locally as the Church of Saint-Honorat, retains much of its medieval character. A handwritten greeting and signature on the front add a personal touch to this early twentieth-century view.

Additional Information

The front of the card bears a handwritten date of May 18, 1903 (18-5-03) along with the message Amitiés Sincères (Sincere Friendships) signed by Juliette. The reverse features a 5-centime French "Blanc" stamp and is addressed to Mademoiselle M. Bernadon at 35 Rue de Passy in Paris. The small quatrefoil logo in the bottom right corner of the front image is a common printer's mark for this series. The undivided back layout confirms its production before the 1904 regulation change in France that introduced the divided-back message area.
