Step into a quiet corner of Knott’s Berry Farm’s Ghost Town with this vintage postcard featuring the Church of Reflections. Originally built in 1876 as the First Baptist Church in Downey, California, the chapel was constructed from redwood shipped from Northern California and transported by ox teams. In 1955, Walter Knott, a dedicated preservationist, moved the building to the park’s Ghost Town area to save it from demolition, transforming it into a serene landmark known as the Church of Reflections.

The postcard captures the church in its classic setting behind a low wooden fence, its white façade and square bell tower topped with a tapered dark steeple and cross mirrored perfectly in Reflection Lake. Lush green trees frame the scene, with a small family strolling near the entrance, giving a sense of timeless charm and peacefulness within the lively theme park.
