1907 LS Ayres & Co. at Easter in Indianapolis, Indiana, vintage postcard with a reference to women's rights.

L. S. Ayres and Company was a department store based in Indianapolis, Indiana, and founded in 1872 by Lyman S. Ayres. This postcard features the Easter decorations and Edwardian products for sale: ladies' hair combs, hand fans,  - even a postcard rack on the jewelry countertop, that probably held this very postcard!

The sender writes about wanting to go hear the Rev Wilfley speak. Wilfley was an outspoken opponent of women wearing makeup and closer fitting skirts - he believed these were the cause of women getting sexually accosted by "mashers".  Wilfley also testified before Congress in 1912 about the evils of intoxicating liquors.
