Additional Information

The credit to Mrs. Johnny Baker marks a significant chapter in the preservation of the American West. Olive Baker, alongside her husband Johnny (who was Buffalo Bill Cody's foster son and a famed sharpshooter) founded the Buffalo Bill Memorial Museum in 1921. Following Johnny's death in 1931, Olive personally managed the archives and the "Pahaska Tepee" gift shop where this very card was sold. As the exclusive copyright holder for these images, she played a vital role in immortalizing the views of Lookout Mountain for generations of travelers.
