Set of three Victorian brass metal shank buttons originally worn on an antique Royal Blackheath Golf Society Club member's coat.
Measure approximately 30L, 30 lignes, 19 mm, or 3/4"
These buttons come from the historic Royal Blackheath Golf Club, one of the oldest golf clubs in England, with roots reaching back to the early 1600s and the time of King James I. By the eighteenth century, the club had become a symbol of sporting prestige, and members’ uniforms featured buttons like these, finely made and embossed with the club’s crest.
A small but elegant link to over four centuries of golfing tradition, perfect for button collectors, collectors of vintage golf memorabilia, or British club history.
