Set of three. 1930s vintage teal blue casein buttons. Four-hole sew-through buttons in a square, rounded corner shape.

Invented in 1897, Casein milk plastics are a type of plastic made from a protein called casein found in milk. They were popular in the early 1900s, but making it was a slow process, and after World War II, newer plastics became more popular. The production of casein plastics all but ended after 1945.
