This elegant Edwardian maid’s cap would have adorned the head of a trusted upstairs maid, one who served tea or attended her mistress in the drawing room. Its black silk crown and fine, tea-dyed lace brim reflect the quiet dignity and refinement of domestic service in a wealthy home around 1900. Beautifully constructed, it’s a rare survivor from an age of craftsmanship and grace.

Condition: Excellent. There is a small tear in the interior horsehair mesh lining of the crown, not seen while wearing. No other flaws, which is quite remarkable considering its intended use. Please see the images.
