1909 Hiawatha Steamer Boat IN Postcard

This rare vintage postcard from 1909 features the "Hiawatha," an excursion steamer that operated between New Albany and White City, Indiana. Originally built as the W.J. Young Jr. in 1882 in Dubuque, Iowa, it was converted into an excursion boat in 1906 and renamed "Hiawatha." Tragically, it caught fire on November 30, 1911, at the base of Broadway in Louisville.
