Upon seeing the gorgeous contrast between the clear crystal neck and frosted body, one might think they are seeing a vase by René Lalique. But here we have a crystal butterfly vase attributed to Schlevogt and Hoffman. While Schlevogt is known for his “Jades” of malachite green and blue molded glass pieces, he was strongly influenced by his contemporary, René Lalique. Lalique was enamored with clear and frosted glass. The introduction of Schlevogt's "Butterfly" vase in the late 1930s included a relatively small run of clear and frosted interpretations pressed by the dominant Bohemian glassworks family Josef Riede.
This would look lovely on a dressing table or vanity, and make an excellent addition to any collection. We combine shipping and invite you to visit our other listings.
