1907. Where women's history was made: In 1897, feminist Emma Goldman was arrested for unlawful open-air speaking and attracting a crowd when she attempted to speak at Market Square. After jailing Goldman overnight, the Providence authorities ordered her to leave town within 24 hours, or else face three months imprisonment. UDB. Undivided back. This would look great framed or make an excellent addition to any collection.
