1924. Escape, commonly called Faun Flight by collectors, was designed by Albert Caasmann for Rosenthal in 1916. Mold number K208. The mark on the base "Rosenthal Selb Bavaria" dates this piece to 1924. A partial paper label on the base reads "1495 Flucht Cassman"  Flucht is German for "Escape".  Approximately 5 inches tall (12.7 cm). 

Albert Caasmann (2 June 1886 – 23 March 1968) was a German sculptor and porcelain artist. He designed a series of elf and fairytale-themed figurines, including this Ground Fairy being carried on the back of a faun. Caasmann's work is exhibited in the Porzellanikon's Rosenthal Museum in Selb, Germany. We combine shipping and invite you to visit our other listings.
