1914. "May good fortune follow you" A charming illustration of a newlywed couple walking under an umbrella. A bag of rice floats in the air them, raining rice, shoes, and hearts down upon them. In Victorian England it was traditional to toss old shoes at a married couple at their wedding to bring good luck, rice was thrown for fertility, and the hearts symbolize romantic love. This would look great framed or make an excellent addition to any collection.
