1947-48. Stanley Long's illustrations on this card capture the hustle and bustle of all that was San Fransisco in the late 40s: with 1940s vintage fashions including men in suits and fedora hats, reading the newspaper, and carrying a package. The ladies are in skirt suits with hats, and purses. Trolley conductors are seen in uniform actively performing their work.

The card is designed to fold the "wheels" to slide into slits on the backside for securing the closure of the card. (Slits show no signs of being used). Inside has illustrated features about both Union Square Park and the Golden Gate Bridge. The back shows signs on the rear of the cable car advertising Powell and Market, Fisherman's Wharf, Bay and Taylor. Measures closed: 6  x 3 1/2 inches.

Artist Stanley Long was a renowned watercolorist who was born in Oakland, California on May 4, 1892. He spent his childhood on a ranch in Napa, where he broke wild horses.
