1890s Victorian Victorian Ocular Ocean Jasper Brooch

1890s. Dynamic cabochon of Ocular Ocean Jasper was believed by the Victorians to ward off evil and serve as protection. This brooch has a trombone catch fastener that was patented circa 1850 and favored by European jewelry makers. 40 x 30 mm.
